You know I'm not really sure. I'll try it out tonight and let you know, K?

Tommy might have an opinion here since he was very taken with the AL at the open house.

Ok Tim I tried them both out and if you are looking for a bluse thing, man in my opinion go with the MM90's. They have a warmer tone to them. It's not close to a humbucker tone. I'm trying this pretty clean and IMHO the MM90's have the best sound/tone.

They not louder than the single coils, but they are a bit different. Anybody help me out here??

Hope that helps, Glenn |B)

TO'S,

A Tone Zone is not going to work as a single type tone....it's too big sounding and high output...you're better off looking for a sss config if thats the type of sound your after...
as such a p90 style pup wouldn't give you the exact tone of a true singel coil either...
also consider the slanted orientation of a strat style'd single in the bridge and the placement of singles under the strings...

Food for much thought,

Latro!

Tim,

Fortunately, this is all fresh in my mind from the Open House:

Whereas the S-S-S Albert Lee has great "quack" and "pop", the MM90 has "bite".
The harmonics just seem to jump out when playing MM90s.

Either one is a good choice, but I'd have to say I prefer the sound of the MM90s even though I'm not crazy about the way they look!

mm90's are a little fuller sounding than the single coils.......& they still have chime & definition.what i REALLY liked about them was that they don't have that overwound midrange sound ....(like p90's sometimes do) but they are still fat....AND well defined single coil twang.....SWEET !!!!!!!

that koa top w/ the cream mm90's was one of the sweetest things i ever heard .period !!!!
