Ok, I am in a bind. I am about to buy another EBMM guitar and the local music store has a couple of used ones that are in great shape. They have one Silo (HSH) and one Axis Super Sport (HH). The Silo is tapped on the humbuckers and sounds great but the Axis also sounds great. There is on $50 difference in the price of the two, so cost is not an issue. Which one does everybody think is better? By the way, I play blues, blues rock, and country most of the time. I already have an Axis Sport with MM90's in it.

Thanks for your help.
Chris

Hi Chris, in this case I'd go with the Silhouette as you might get slightly more versatility out of it. The ASS is great, too though, but for a change... ;)

Hi Chris,

Neither is better. Go with the one that speaks to you, the one you feel.

candid you need an axis ss with a 5 way to compliment that lovely blue silo, i take out both of them when I play and I wind up playing for hours -

Lots of variables, lots of opinions... And no bad choice, either way! Still... they don't "feel" the same to you, right? Which one's better? Only you can figure that one out.

What a great situation to be in though, huh?

I think the Silo might be better at the bases you are trying to cover, but don't overlook the MOJO factor!

Try them both, and if one just grabs you by the balls (and the other doesn't), then go for that one, and don't worry about trifles such as color or pickups. There is no substitute for inspiration and magic!
