Hey! Is the Silo Neck Chunky? I really like the Axis Profile, so I was wondering if they were about the same. Someone please let me know! Thanks!

If anything the Silo Special neck carve is a bit thinner than the Axis neck - not much, just a hair thinner (it's not a thin neck by any stretch; it's probably what you would call a "medium" that's probably somewhere between .815 and .820 in depth at the 1st fret). Also, the Silo Special has a symetrical "c" shaped neck while the Axis has an asymetrical neck.

And correct me if i'm wrong but the silo neck is clear coated and the axis is unfinished. I thought they felt very similar in thickness, but of course different in actual feel due to the paint or lack thereof....

Silo necks are also unfinished. They have been clear coated only the first years.

The Silo Spec is unfinished...

In terms of thickness, Id say the Silo Spec is probably the closest to the Axis you'd find. Except for the symmetry.

I like to tell people that Silo Special necks are like Strat necks that shrunk in the wash and got worn in real good along the way... just a bit thinner and slimmer to the point where it fits perfectly in your hand and feels GREAT to play. Axis necks feel a bit meatier to me.

Great comment! I played a strat recently (only to test a pedal) and thought the neck was way inferior compared to my Silo Special. It felt too big, too slow, and made me really appreciate EBMM necks.

Not to get off point, but: having owned an Axis Super Sport I have to put in a plug that this was the sweetest neck ever.

Whenever i strap on my only Fender guitar the neck feels sooooo long hahaha it just dont feel right ...but i cant bring myself to sell my Paisley Tele ....its the only Fender Left in my house and she is a beut....just doesnt play like an EBMM......so it stays in the case ...i have only gigged EBMM's in the last 3 years ...nothing else comes close to the EBMM necks...just downright comfy and i can play all night with no cramping in my hands!
