I've had a long-standing relationship with Dan and the guys at Torres Engineering, and I put their single coil pickups in everything I own. They aren't always the easiest company to work with, but IMO their pickups are worth it. When I got the Silo Spec, I kept an open mind about the stock pickups, but in the end I had a tone in my head that they just couldn't replicate. I thought it would be the perfect time to do a full H/S/S to S/S/S conversion. So here goes.... the pickguard is an EBMM original in Moonstone with a matching trem cover. I really like the Carbon Blue and Moonstone combination. The pics aren't that great, it's a tough color to photograph. The pickups are Torres Blues pickups, which are a slightly overwound version of their Very Vintage pickups (which are still my favorite). Awesome clarity and presence, with a full (but not overpowering) bass response. It oozes that SRV "Lenny" tone now. I added the Fralin base plate to the bridge pickup so it's got about the same volume as the stock humbucker. Overall I'm very pleased with the new look and sound!

Very nice, Jason. I did a similar conversion from HSS to SSS on my maple board Silo Special, but using Fralin blues special. Couldn't be happier with it.

Thanks for the kind words! The body/pickguard color combination really speaks for itself doesn't it? Initially I bought the Silo as an "all-in-one" guitar, but that was before I bought the ASS which IMO is a better fit for humbuckers. I found the overall tone of the Silo is bright with a very focused low-end, which is a great compliment to my Strat that has a huge bottom end, so I went with the full S/S/S conversion. I'm digging it more and more each time I play it.

DJ- I'm hoping to have some clips soon.
