What he said.

If you love the Pet, why mess around? If you happen to play a Silo and fall in love then sure. But the Pet is a sure thing.

I don't understand the hang-up on sig guitars. Lots of guys play Les Pauls and nobody makes fun of them right? ;)

I guess that is true. A Les Paul is just about the industry standard. One often forgets that it really is a signature guitar.

Yeah, I totally forgot that the Les Paul is a sig. model. But who wants a Les Paul when you have EBMM? :)

The way I figure it, is that if Slash can have a Slash-Les Paul Signature, maybe EBMM will make a Joe D-John Petrucci Signature when I finally make the big time :D

As you know, they are two very different gtrs. There are a variety of tones that you will get out of a Silo that you cant get from a JP and vice versa. They play very differently too. The trem response is different. Its a very difficult comparision to make.

I never thought Id own a signature model either but I wanted the thin JP neck which is great and not like any other MM neck. I made a compromise with myself that if I bought a JP then Id NOT get the inlays. (Sort of like buying a car and removing the dealer label LOL). Also, Id get the piezo only because I find it really adds to the mag p/up tone. Lastly, if you decide to sell it, a fully optioned JP will reap a better re-sale price then one without the piezo. The piezo doesnt impede the tone of the gtr any so at worst you can decide to just not use it.
