Silo vs Silo special -

You could always buy both!
I battled the same decision for MONTHS!
I decided to go for the Silo H-S-H.
But I do not have it yet so who knows what my mind will do as I go place the order!?!!?

Well first of all, I don't think the Silhouette Special has a Virtual PAF in the bridge (perhaps Jon could clear that up?), but even if it does, you still have a single-coil neck pickup in the neck position. I owned both at the same time, and I stand by my earlier assessment - these guitars do not sound the same, imho.

i also think they sound typically different. i think the neck pickup sounds clearer on a special......due to the placement being where the 24th fret would be........ the harmonic content is better . ( just my opinion)
i prefer 24 frets only on a roland synth pickup equipped guitar.....so i can get 2 more keys on my piano playin.......
(for me) ...playin up on 23 or 24th frets just doesn't sound normal or somethin....

Ya I thought I might have the record for that! Maybe someone will take pitty on me and give me one.

The only thing holding me up is money! I'm waiting for some return on investment type things to clear on my business. Until then, I have no play money.

Until then, I'm just hangin' with you guys obsessively dreamin'.

The dream guitar is still a Silo (for my first one anyways )
I'm leaning towards Carbon Blue Pearl, white pickguard, maple fretboard, piezo.
I also like what I've seen recently. Blue Pearl w/ shell guard and rosewood.
Let's face it. I love them all!!!

I may buy a Silo for my immediate fix. I'm currently trying them out to see how much they suit me.
