Got my new (used) silo in late this past week. It has some interesting history. Anyone recognize it?

How do I make the pics big? Doing something wrong...

Hi. You need to click on your picture until it gets large. Then right click on that large pic to get the properties for a large pic.

I understand how BP feels about it but I see an upside too. That guitar got great use back in the day, probably brought a few Perry/Brewster fans to the brand over the years. EBMM's investment in that guitar has long since been either recouped or written-off. The good news is that now it's paying a little bonus - we have a second happy owner, a forumite giving it good forum bandwidth. That guitar is useless to anyone in Lincoln Brewster's basement. Notice the big jump in silhouette love on the forum the last week or two? This guitar is part of that too. I see BP's point of view as owner of the people who made it and gave it to the artist, but from my point of view as a fan - it's all good, baby! :)

Yes I understand the PR value but there could have been more rightful ways to part the guitar -- such as donating it to an aspiring young guitar player that can't afford a quality instrument...

Hey I have nothing against Lincoln Havent seen him in a long time...just sort of funny...

One artist that had a lot of our guitars who is sort of famous from endorsing EVERTHING on the planet called me and asked if I wanted to buy all of his custom music mans before he offered them at auction. I declined

love artists selling guitars they got for free

I totally get this. In fact, a local band from here in Joplin, "Me Like Bees" just won the Ernie Ball sponsored Battle of the Bands and everyone in the group received a new Music Man instrument straight from the factory. I couldn't believe they, well, the bassist at least, are selling their guitars. For shame. As I told some customers, if I were to ever receive a guitar from Music Man and BP I would be so grateful I'd take care of you guys in old age. Really, like changing sheets and stuff. Because, well, it would just mean that much to me. I don't get selling something that special when it was a gift to begin with. Makes no sense in the world.
I am happy though, as DrKev said, that the guitar is now being used and the new owner is excited. I was happy to have gotten a chance to play that one some while it was still in my shop. I guess all's well that ends well...

I don't know how this guitar left Lincoln's hands. Someone got it from him, then sold it to the guy I got it from. It had been doing a lot of case in the closet time. All I know is I play it. Its likely to get played most weekends t church not to mention every chance I get here at home.

Quality of design and build, it will keep me playing a few more years...

Everything else asside, regarading this guitar: It of course plays and sounds amazing. I could go on but you guys get it. The rest of the story is why that's important to me. I'm 49 years old, been playing since my Dad put a 58 strat in my hands at 5 (yes I still have it). About 5 years ago I was playing 50 weeks a year in church (another story but we rock it), but I started having trouble controling my left hand. Turns out I have parkensons. This slowly decreases your ability to control in my case the left hand.

With medication I have continued to play. I own about 20 guitars. But with parkensons I soon learned how important it is to have a really well designed and well built guitar, one that feels natural, is easy to play and sets up well. My Axis ss is one I play a lot. This Silo is super easy to play. It was simple to set up. Quality in design and build...

I love to be out playing. A little at a time my ability to do so is slipping away. This guitar has me playing things I gave up on over a year ago. Again, quality in design and build, and it inspires me to push through where I can. Until theres a cure the lesson for me is fewer guitars but better guitars. And no names but I've played some other high dollar guitars, they just are not easy for me to play. Really this one does it all for me anyway. Just don't tell her that. Not ready to sell everything else yet:) But this one really does make it easier.

I know without a cure I'll have to hang it up at some point but until then I'll keep fighiting it.

Thanks to BP and musicman for extending the time I have doing what I love, You've made a real difference.

Kylem,

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I can't imagine that kind of suffering. All I can say is that your case is very inspiring and I hope you can keep rocking that sweet Silo for many more weekends! Thank you for sharing this with us and good luck down the road!

I think the guitar is super cool - great score.

I found the video at around 1:10 to 1:19 uncomfortable, however. Maybe it's commonplace - I wouldn't know.

A quick search reveals that at least one of the gifted MMs was legitimately sold directly from LB (see link), which suggests the Silo in question might also have been gifted then sold.

I believe this is a recurrent sitcome theme: Guy1 gives gift to Guy2. Guy2 sells/loses/breaks/misuses gift. Ah yes, Seinfeld season 6 #7 ("The Soup") will do. Kenny Bania gives Jerry an Armani suit in exchange for a meal. Bania orders soup, but does not count soup to count as a real meal. Jerry grows tired of the burden of the owed meal. Jerry gives away suit to Elaine's boyfriend the Englishman. Or there's an Everybody Loves Raymond episode where Raymond gifts money to Robert who is in a tight spot, and then Robert subsequently uses the money to go on vacation. Classic.
