Recent ebay acquisition. It arrived a few days ago - I've been holding my tongue until I had some pix. Loving this bass.

As far as I can tell, this is Gunsmoke Silver. It's a metallic finish, though I haven't been able to capture that well in a photo yet, in the lighting at my home.

I've played rosewood EBMMs, of course, but never owned one. Feels great and I can definitely hear the difference. This thing is dead mint. I lucked out on the flamed neck too, very nice in person.

The guy had just put a set of flats on it. I've never played flats on a fretted. Kinda fun & feels nice, but they'll be coming off soon.

Photo album with a handful of pix, HERE. There's a zoom button on the upper right.

Thx! Yeah, I was pretty sure I saw some flaming to the headstock in one of the ebay pix, but the pic was bad & it was sorta questionable. So I asked the guy if the neck had some flame/figuring to it, and believe it or not, he didn't know what I was talking about! "I don't understand your question". ??? He said he was a psychiatrist. So I said "well, just send it on over to me then, sir". I can't believe it's a 2001 (per the SN). It's in absolutely brand new condition.

I had a pearl platinum SR5 once & this finish isn't the same. Not 100% sure it's Gunsmoke, but it sure looks the same as the Gunsmoke shown in the color thread, doesn't it? I sent the SN to Cust Svc & asked for the info. I'll let ya know what I find out.

Thanks. Atlanta huh, Billy? I grew up not far from there - Birmingham, AL. Atlanta's a great city, but the traffic is a killer, isn't it?

I'm about 30-40 minutes north of Atlanta, actually. But I work in Atlanta .... traiffic does suck, but I work 3rd shift, so I avoid all the heavy traffic :)

Does the paint have a metallic fleck to it? I have an '01 5 string in Gunsmoke Silver and it has a little metallic twinge to it, like a silver car paint.

Thanks Oli & PudgyChef!

AtomicPunk, yep, that's exactly how this finish is. Not large metal flake (or "sparkle"), but metallic ... small/fine flakes or flecks. Like my silver VW Jetta. Thanks for the help in ID'ing it.
