Very nice! I have a candy apple red Bongo 4 Hp coming in any day now from Bass Central. Very nice find on your part! I love the single H Bongo's. Also, eat a carne asada burrito for me while you in S.D.. That is my home town and I haven't had any good Mexican food since I left back in 03'.

After being Bongo-less for 5 months I found a beautiful candy red Bongo 4H.

I'm still on the lookout for a Bongo 4Hp in any color.

Quick question. I have always been a big fan of the single H tone of the Stingray and Sterling. Even with the HH versions,I keep going back to the rear pickup for 99% of my playing. Is the H Bongo tone that much different? Im seriousely looking at that Bongo 6 H and I want to make sure I know what I'm getting in the tone department.

The H pickup is in the sweet spot on the bongo just like any other H pickup is on any EBMM bass.

In addition to my Bongo 4 H, I have a Sterling 4 H, Stingray 4 H and a Stingray Classic 4 H. Every single one of them have a different tone from one another. But all Sound great! I could even add, I have a Bongo 4 Hp that I just got as well. They all do share very similar tones but also have their own unique and specific tones that you can get only out of those individual basses. But if you like the Stingray and Sterling 4 H tones, then I am sure you would like a Bongo single H tone as well.

I think the 18volt preamp helps as well... I'm most impressed with the simplicity of the single H compared to my other basses... no switches to switch, no other pickups to blend, 3 bands of EQ and a volume knob... it like the sniper rifle of basses - point, shoot, game over... sounds awesome.

I've always dreamed about SR5 HH, but when I bought my SR5 H I realized that single H gives you more then enough.

My single H Bongo5 lacks nothing tone wise. Perfectly balanced, punchy and cuts through like a razor in a dense mix. The only thing that keeps it from being the only five string I "need" are my pair of SR5's!

Just a quick note to say I brought two basses last night to the gig and the "stage" was so tight that I knew I wouldn't be able to switch very easily. I've been trying to get back into 4 bangers so BP will love me again; I really only needed the 5 for a couple of songs, but faced with reality - one bass for the evening - I went with the desert island bass, the Candy Red Bongo 5H. That bass is so great that it makes me look like a good bassist!

No kidding: it's still as impressive as it was when I got it just over six years ago. The honeymoon continues!
