Just a quick note to say I brought two basses last night to the gig and the "stage" was so tight that I knew I wouldn't be able to switch very easily. I've been trying to get back into 4 bangers so BP will love me again; I really only needed the 5 for a couple of songs, but faced with reality - one bass for the evening - I went with the desert island bass, the Candy Red Bongo 5H. That bass is so great that it makes me look like a good bassist!

No kidding: it's still as impressive as it was when I got it just over six years ago. The honeymoon continues!

..........for one minute, reading that, I thought you were going to say you dropped the tuning on one of your 4 strings.

Nice choice - and your CR Bongo 5 looks freaking amazing as well Jack

Hey Jack...have you tried the Cobalt strings on that bass yet? I had flats on mine for quite a while and really liked them a lot - preferred them to regular round wounds - but had to try to Cobalts when they came out and I definitely love them because they produce some extra deep, thumpy sound like the flats do and seem to be thicker in the low mids as well but have lots of spank on top when new. I've the same set on mine for a while so they're a lot mellower now on the top end but I'm still loving them with their fat, deep sound.
