I know you have to order the piezo to get the 4 band EQ on a single H. I know people ask about how the single H sounds alot, but that is usually in the context of the 3 band. I am curious as to how the 4 band single H sounds with the piezo rolled off. I know this probably isn't the most popular model so there might not be that much feedback, but I ask anyway.

Thanks

Aiyyyy, no, can't really give you an answer.

Had a single hummer but no piezo. The single hummer is on its way to Heavy Duty Kenneth, well, because I love him. And there were cash considerations, too.

But lemme tell you, the single H Bongo is a rock and roll monster.

Frankly, so am I.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think It would be INSANELY different than a HHp bass with the bridge pickup soloed, which I love the sound of. I almost ordered my fretless as a single H with piezo.

I'd imagine they do sound different...but I'm just curious if the difference is that drastic? It doesn't really matter to me 'cause I'm going to pick up a single H when I have the money to order one and it will probably have the piezo. Has anyone ordered a medallion gold single H bongo?

It's funny because I've been gassing for a Medallion Gold bongo ever since I saw that fretless lined used one from Bass NW(From Namm?) way before even Jason had his white whale. When it came that I could afford to order my fretless I was about to do it up in MG but heard about the new LE color Buttercream... Even though BC is a LE color...I'd imagine there are way fewer Medallion Gold Bongos out there now.

Someday I'm gonna order one...and no one can stop me! Unless the good folks at EBMM decide to discontinue the color.... or

Drastic... no. Noticable... yes! It is hard to explain but it has much more growel than the HH and seems to be more edgy - perfect for rock (and other types of music). You would think that the 3 band would be limiting compared to the 4, but I actually like it a bit (just a bit) better. It is simple to use, has some great tonal shaping capibilities, and, with 18 volts, blows other preamps out of the water.
I think a HP would be awesome (and would love to see one in medallion gold too).

Okay, you're freakin' me out now. The only thing that's been keeping me from ordering a single H Bongo 5 in MG with a python guard is that I'm waiting until after NAMM to see if there are any new finish options being announced.

Get offa my brain-wave, Dude.

Heh--Sorry. Now that Scott has said that there aren't any new colors planned, I might just have to do it. After seeing this one last year at NAMM, it was all over:

I'll only be ordering the single H with no piezos for this one, though. Of course, I have a 4 band Bongo preamp in a box right now, so maybe I'll get the single H and then swap out the pre for the 4 band.
