My 25th with rosewood, trem, and quilt arrived yesterday at the apartment building while I was at work. Unfortunately, the office closed before I could get home to get the guitar. Happily, I was able to get home earlier today, and I was able to get the guitar.

According to Pete, this guitar was played by Devon Allman while he was at the Beller's store.

Pics to prove it exists.

As you'd expect, they definitely have different characters and personalities. The Brunette is a little quieter in her demeanor. She's a bit more conservative and reserved. The Blonde is more outgoing. She's less complicated. She's a bit more vivacious. I can definitely hear those things in their voices and the way they speak and sing to me. Still, I love them both.

rosewood edges it on all-round looks but I think I'd prefer the hardtail feel.... time for a third?

Thanks, guys!

I don't think a third one is in the cards. Maybe a Reflex somewhere down the road if it's got The Game Changer.

Wow.. Truly amzaing rob. You are crazy. :D

Nice snag for both! Wanna tell us more about the tone differences? Guess you the only qualified one now to give an impartial verdict between a hardtail and trem 25th!

Thanks, everyone!

As far as the tonal differences between hardtail and trem are concerned, when I played the two maple-board 25ths at my local GC, I felt that somehow the hardtail one just more full, had more authority to its tone. It just sounded more "solid."

Rosewood vs. maple? Well, the maple seems to have a more rounded, full-range tone and more clarity. The rosewood seems to be warmer, more mid-rangey, more compressed. Basically, the differences are kind of what you'd expect.

As far as feel is concerned, I think I just feel a bit more comfortable on the maple. For me it's like the difference between slip-on, driving moccasins vs. a more "constructed" but comfortable shoe.
