I'm debating getting a SR5 instead of a SR4 or sterling. I don't slap a lot, but was wondering how the string spacing was for slap? I went to GC to try one out this weekend, but they were out of SR5's.

It's tighter than stingray 4's or sterlings. It is 17mm I believe. Or 17.5", I dont think it is listed on the ernie ball site at all, which is weird.

Not bad...

I don't have an SR 5 right now, but for a while it was my main player. Slapping on it isn't a problem. It took me very little time to get used to. And after that, no problem. Really, the string spacing becomes a non-issue very quickly.

If Stanley Clarke (him being very tall) can slap really good on a short scale bass with tight string spacing, slapping on a SR5 is really no problem.
