My new purchase last night may just bring me back to playing a lot again. Too much golf lately. Anyway...
Didn't even have to plug it in at the store. No need to.

Congratulations! The Darth Vader of 'Rays.

Question... shouldn't the Stealth come with a single layer black matte pickguard?!

Thank you all for the bass compliments. It's going to get some quality play time tonight. Very light bass, and the SLO neck is very comfortable.

Excellent catch Oli! It did come with that pickguard. I don't think it lasted 5 minutes once the bass entered my house. ;) I was prepared.

I'm curious if you A/B-ed this against other rays and noticed a tonal difference.

I have a Stealth Bongo on the way.

Stoked for you.:D

Congrats on your purchase! You will be very pleased!
I don't have any other Stingrays to A/B right now, but I have had a few in the past. I haven't given the bass the time it deserves yet, but from the brief playing times I have noticed that the notes sound more defined compared to any Maple fingerboard Stingrays I've had. Tapping notes are also more pronounced. It also seems to have a beefier tone then the Graphite neck Stingray NAMM I had.
I cleaned it up nicely, put my favorite strings on it, and will take some better pictures soon. Then I need to play it more! It's light and very comfortable to play. I am very happy right now.

I've been putting some quality time back into playing bass again. This SLO Stealth is fantastic! It is my favorite playing and sounding Stingray to date. The ebony fingerboard is great. Awesome tone and attack. Tapping even sounds better to my ears then the maple board versions. More defined and louder acoustic notes.

I stacked 2 pickguards and it closed the gap under the strings, just a little, but it feels so much more comfortable to me now.

Thank you BP and gang. This bass is awesome!
