SM dream last night...

I have a SM on the way. (Wish I would have never sold my first one), but somewhere in my dream I found a Steve Morse (original not the Y2D) with a piezo...talk about a complete as you can get...

Got me to thinking...with the wiring is that even posible?

i have a Y2D and changed the bridge to a fishman piezo bridge.
put in this small fishman preamp and a push-pull pot (used the tone-pot) for activating the piezo.
no volume on this one, just on/off - works great.

Hmmm..never done that type of work...I guess I am going to have to look at that...what about the volume? and I assume you wired it so it is the same jack...(sorry for the newb questions)

there comes a stereo switching jack with the fishman power-chip preamp. the wiring is only for stereo-cable usage (that´s the way i use all my piezo system guitars). the volume can be set at the power-chip itself, so once i had the right level, i put the power-chip into the cavity and screw the plate back on.

with a regular SM guitar, you don´t even need to drill a hole for the piezo-signal wire into the body, you can run it directly under the pickguard.
on a regular morse the installing process looks much easier as on the Y2D.
