My Y2D has 3 springs on the trem and it feels stiffer than I like, andin comparison to my other MM guitars, which, depending on the guitar has either 2 springs fanned or 3 straight.

Are any of you using 2 fanned (V)? If I move to 2 and keep the bridge level as it now, would that disrupt a set up I paid too much to begin with?

Thanks!!!

If i get it right I think you can compensate the changing forces of the Trem Springs (less force when removing one) by adjusting the screws which hold the trem claw. Screw them in until the Bridge is straight again then you have the same setup as before with a less stiffer Trem

Hi Mike, Yes, you'll have to re set up your guitar if you pull out a spring. It's easy to do. Just go little by little until the bridge is back where you want it.
