nice! do you have any pictures of the purple sunset while doing the mod? or can you send any close ups of the extra toggle and the routing?

The mods basically make the Y2ds consistant with the std morse like the original Y2d prototype.
3-way blade switch (bridge, neck, middle pu switching) and then an "add bridge" toggle.

The purple sunset has an added toggle on the upper horn for the Piezo bridge switching going to a stereo output jack.
For this no "routing" per se. Drilled one hole the diameter of the switch then came in from the back. Set my depth measurement and used a forester bit to drill a hole large enough for the switch housing. Drilled from the Pu route to switch hole for wiring. Surface mounted the cover.

I will add the Purple Y2d does not have a tone - instead 2 volumes - one for magnetic and one for piezo. I run the piezo passive so I don't have to deal with a battery, into a Aura Spectrum direct. Sounds awesome.

Side note: The studs that came with the fishman are very small and wimpy. I reused the original Tonepros studs that go into the body 3x's longer than the fishman by turning them down on my lathe. This allowed me to make a tight fit as well so the bridge does not come loose with the strings off. I think there is a tonal improvement acoustically with the new bridge too.

Rainy and overcast right now so poor lighting and no screw driver handy so this is the best I could do.

Cool!

I have thought about mounting a piezo on my Axis as well - as if it wasn't modded enough :D - and I would have to go through pretty much the same procedure to make it work - I would want the switch on the upper horn like on the JP as well.

very cool! now it's like a good mix between a JP and a Morse.

the studs which came with the fishman are still in their box. i used aftermarket studs instead, which fit into the larger hole of the original studs and on the other side into the small hole of the bridge.

i really love the look of the purple sunset with the cream pups - it's so prototype like - awesome!

IRL - the cream pick ups and switch tip match the binding perfectly along with chrome knobs to match all the other hardware- It just looks right and natural...

Here are mine... First run Darklord currently sporting Dimarzio Dominions (seriously awesome pickups in this guitar):

And here's Johnny Hiland and I with my trusty #1 guitar, a plain old Y2D:
