Now I can get a Dargie that I would be allowed to play at church. Those martini glasses sort of made it iffy on the old ones. :)

Oh, boy, now I have to save up for one or sixteen of these basses!!

That color shifting paint looks badass. I missed out on the first run of the Dargie Delight series and I'd like to shoot for getting one of these new runs. If you want my opinion, martini glass inlays or not, I think they look better than the first run.

What is the release date? Can I preorder yesterday????

Eeeeeee!!!!!

Ping, Colin: I posted the triple buck Albert Lee skinny stringers pics over at AAGH (Aussie Guitar Gear Heads), and the boys there are hot for the blue finish.

THey are cooler in that they are subtle...Until the light hits them just right and wowzers
at some angles you cant make it shift and then the light hits it and its a gold guitar.
THe ebony is wonderful........

THe Big Al started out as a hoot and just for the hell of it. I actually had it and loved it but was not going to introduce it as the 25th was so groundbreaking tonally that I didnt want either one of them to get lost....but went with my gut and it is working out better than what I had hoped for. Its funny you go back o doing things that you like and not trying to chase the big retailers tastes and you end up with cooler stuff. There will be several versions of the big al including a 5er probably introduced at the Anaheim NAMM 2010. IT just is so comfortable to play and the preamp fits perfectly

Marc Really? That orange is really hot with the rosewood neck also...that is staying with me. Now I have to go gig. Where to find a gig?

You know that the guitar market is not good now as is the economy. It hurts financially but creatively it is a blast......With sales down a little we have production to try new ideas. Im just telling it like it is. Alll high enders are feeling a pinch right now. Thank god for Slinkies and our team.

I may have to venture out of Bongo-land for a Dargie 2 Big Al (MHS).

Like Anthony said - just when I thought I was done for a while!

BP, is it possible that we could see the Big Al 5 available as a Dargie-2 when it's introduced next year? ;)

Pops, as always, THANK YOU! I love to get a peek at the inner workings of the shop and what you guys/gals are doing.

I am just having a problem deciding right now. With the abuse Warhammer takes, can't decide on which bass to get next. I have to play them on stage.....Big AL or 25th???? Both are out of the question....now you have these coming out.....decisions decisions decisions.

BTW....you can gig out here in Va. Beach if you want...I have a place you can stay...;)

Big AL 5 FTW :D

Any chance of a Stealth version? You know metal freaks love weird shaped instruments :p

Tried the Big Al at the London Music Show last week.

Loved the neck, great sounds, electronics are easy to operate. Love the looks, too.

But... it's fairly heavy. (At least this one was.) Around 10lbs would have been my guess - that's a lot for a 4-string with an Alder body IMO.

I'm a big fan of the Ernie Ball instruments and currently own seven Stingrays. But if there's one thing I don't like about (most of) them, it's the weight.
