So here I am, at home, reading the forums. Normally I just sit around at work and get paid to read them Hopefully my boss doesn't read this.

Whew! I'm glad I'm not the only one who hangs out on forums all day while at work!

sortof +1 - I'm at home today as I'm not very well (awww poor me) and am meant to be doing some work, but I just can't be bothered! So am foruming instead.

We got snowed in too around the Seattle area. It ws funny watching people with 2wd vehicles being stupid trying to get around. It's pretty cold right now...daytime warmed up to only 27degrees! We got 6-7 inches of snow, and due for more.

We got snowed in too around the Seattle area. It ws funny watching people with 2wd vehicles being stupid trying to get around. It's pretty cold right now...daytime warmed up to only 27degrees! We got 6-7 inches of snow, and due for more.

THAT'S snowed in? Geeze . . . . Seattle must really suck at dealing with snow . . . . . I hail from the north of Michigan, and if we woke to that, nobody would give a damn - they probably wouldn't even plow . . . . . not enough to care. Bring down a foot, and things get a little more interesting, but still no closures unless it's windy. And no, we have never owned a 4 wheel drive vehicle, used chains, or been stuck . . . . .

Sorry for the lack of sympathy, but I guess it's all in how the area is prepared/equipped to handle snow . . . . 1/16" here in Dallas and everything dies - not because of the roads, but all the locals brains lock up tight, since they can't comprehend what they are seeing, for the better part . . .

I'll see if I can find a few of my winter pix . . . .

Yeah, but Tim you have to admit, we usually don't usually get snow. We get ice.

But you are right. People around here don't have a clue as to how to drive when it gets icy. Of course, that makes me happy since I work in a body shop.

Freezing Rain here in my location. yeah going to be a lot of cars having problems getting home. But it is the trees that take the beating from it. That and powerlines.

There is something to be said for flying South.

Hell, people around here can't even drive in the rain! You'd think they'd be used to it since it tends to rain every other day, but no. Some folks drive about 90 mph & try to kill everyone, and most other ones drive about 25 mph & try to be killed.

Sort of reminds me of the story about this truck stop up north that got snowed in for over a week. The place was full of snowbound truckers, but the restaurant and bar stayed open. After a few days one of the waitresses got so ashamed of what she was doing she killed herself.

A few days later the truckers got so ashamed of what they were doing they buried her.

I was in Dallas one time when there was ice on everything. I was anything but bored.
I got to see how y'all can drive right up to the very top of the guard rail

Now I live in Kansas and we get to do some of that kind of stuff here too.

The difference being this is mountain terrain here out west. Yes the 2wd's do just fine putting around on the flat areas. But you usually can't get 4-5 miles until you hit our usual steep hills, then everybody in a 2wd slides sideways.
