I used to know a guy who would use very light weight machine oil on his bridge. He had a plastic squeeze bottle with a small metal needle tip. A few drops here and there on the bridge. It kept it lookin' like new, even after years of use.

I have all kinds of crap around here and, like most of you in my age group, have had even more crap over the years.

The Martin guitar polish used to be my favorite. They changed the formula a while back (who knows why) and it's not quite what it was, although it's still pretty good. I have half a bottle of the 'old' Martin polish and I guess once it runs out, that's it for me and that particular brand.

I've used Dunlop products off and on and for a while, they were the only company making decent fretboard stuff.

Fender gave me a 'finish kit', some of that MacGuire's formula that is supposed to be good for swirls and scratches and God knows what else. I've never opened it.

Then of course I have the Ernie Ball stuff. Two or three bottles of the guitar polish (one was given to me by Dudley, so I should probably have it bronzed, but I actually use it now and then) and then the Wonder Wipes.

If I thought the Wonder Wipes weren't great, I wouldn't be in this thread. I'd just keep my mouth shut and no one would know what I thought, but they're fantastic, they're easy to carry around and they WORK.

I'm not a stickler about keeping my tuning keys bright and shiny, so I have no idea how the strings wipes would work for that. I wipe down my tuners every three or four weeks when it occurs to me.

So, for me - the Wonder Wipes. What else do you need?

I let it sit there until I can chisel the stuff off and feed it to my gold fish.

I use Maguires Quickwax spray and a microfiber cloth on my guitars. It is a very good wax for detailing cars, and it works wonders on guitars. I've tried all of the polishes out there on the market, and they all do the same thing, only more expensive. My bottle of quickwax has lasted my 5 years so far, and I've stilll got a ton left. I am very interested in trying the wonderwipes, but I've been using fast fret on my strings, and they are lasting a ton longer. I find it hard to believe a petroleum based product "accumulates salty sweat", it repels it, and my strings are lasting me 3 times longer than normal before sounding dull. And the same container of FF has lasted me a couple of years as well. How many wipes do you get in a pack? How long do they last? As a starving musician, I have to go with cheap stuff that delivers.

Hi alder, welcome to the forum. From having to change them after one gig, to getting weeks out of string is amazing. I am puzzled as to why no-one has ever mentioned it, its not even listed on google. Any pointers as to where it is available? I gotta try this stuff! That stuff does truly sound magical.

I dunno.. I just use the EB cloth to wipe down everything. I'll use the WW String Cleaner every other day to keep the strings fresh.. boy, does it work!

Everytime I change strings, I scrub the body with the instrument polish wipes. It works great! Check the guitar pics thread for my JP6! It went from having fingerprints all over it to being nice and shiny for the camera! I use the instrument polish wipes on the tuning keys for my acoustic today, and they shine like never before!
