In times like this, it is usually best to take a "big picture" approach.
Sure, your new bass is taking a tour of the country, but you've got a house to wait in, other basses to play, loved ones to wait with you, etc. You could be homeless, bassless and lonely. An extra day doesn't seem too bad now, huh?
