yesterday and came home with these...........:)

I want to thank Silverburst for going above and beyond to give me a great deal. I'm sure i'll have more to say later but my first impression of the 30th is that it is indeed a very very special bass.....quite possibly the best Stingray ever. The Markbass combo looks/sounds like it will be perfect for my cover band gigs.I'm not defecting from GK but sometimes my rig is overkill for the venues i've been playing in lately and the CMD 102P will come in very handy. It's super loud(and light) for a 210 and with another cabinet I imagine it would cover just about anything. Thanks again Rex, see you in Indio.....

Don't worry, I still love the Markbass, and am well-represented with the brand.

No defections here. The 30th was moved out to get me back down to my magic number. I stand by my belief that the 30th is the best Stingray ever made.

Oh, and BP -- I'll trade you my 63 Jazz for another 10 30ths...

So 10 30ths is your magic number? That's a good number. You own 1.2% of the original production.

Not sure why I felt compelled to figure that out. Oh yeah, it's because I'm at work.

boy, that's a pretty bass. I'm a 5-string player and I still want one. Nice score.

What's the biggest difference from stock rays, do y'all think?

I'd say the main difference is that the Mahogany body gives it a slightly different tone.To my ears it's a little darker tone while also being a little punchier than my other SR4. The neck has really nice birdseye in it and the gloss neck has a slightly different feel. The string through body would be another difference and though it is a cool feature I don't know if it really affects the tone all that much.....
