Thanks for the biz......please let me know how the buying experience went....did you "grind" the sales guy as BP suggested ?? The guitar looks amazing from the pics and not too shop worn. How were the neck and strings when you looked at it at the store ??

being a horn player..that means u can probably read music.......disqualifing u as a potential geetar player..
:D

Thanks BP...I sorta snuck into this forum several weeks back and didn't properly introduce myself. It's amazing how this place instantly makes you feel welcomed...very cool.

I've been a horn player (trumpet) for around 25 years and after experiencing horn sections practically disappearing from bands I decided to follow a dream I've had for as long as I can remember and become that guitar player I've always wanted to be! I'm a HUGE Lukather fan which is what led me to EB. I'm looking forward to a great relationship with this company and with the cats on this forum.

I'm already thinking about my next axe and I haven't even received this one yet!

Well, the truth is I've had my eye on this guitar since the store received it - about 8 or 9 months ago I'm guessing. The guitar does look amazing, although the sales guy and I both gave her quite a bit of TLC. It had very fresh strings, even if they were of a competitor's brand. :D

The neck was in fine shape and needed just a very very slight adjustment for me (think 1/8 turn or so). it would probably have been just fine for someone not as picky as me about set up.

Did I grind the sales guy? Well, kind of. I cheated. I am a former employee of that store and have a good idea of what the actual costs of the instrument are to the store. I made an offer he could have easily refused - but he is a wise salesman and we compromised - he gave me my price after I grinded and grinded and grinded and moved a piece that's been in inventory a looooong time for GC. :D

Now, the case, on the other hand, looks like it's been banged around a GC warehouse for 8 or 9 months. Nicks and dings in the tolex ends, the inside compartment doesn't close quite right and the hood doesn't close perfectly on the bottom of the case. There are a few big black marks from being slided into by other case and whatnot. But who plays the case, right?

All in all - just a fantabulous instrument!!! Definitely one of my favorite 2 (this and my AL - can't say I like one better - they do such different things).

Nice Grab Norrin

But how great would that puppy look with a black pickguard and some glow-in-the-dark swirls huh? :p :p :D

HAHAHA!

:D :D :D

Thanks for the laugh boss!

Good news too - I payed for it with my GC card - 12 months no interest financing. The wife said if I can a way to pay it off before the 12 months is up outside of my usual income stream, then I won't have to sell another guitar either! YAY wife!!! That means Albert is safe for now. It also means you knuckleheads (and in particular members of the ALOC) are going to have to start buying crap from my basement! :D

Nice pickup. Always cool when you think you can never find a guitar you like as much as one you already own then...pow! Another one begs you to own it.
