Grats on the new aquisition and thanks for a great writeup. I hope I speak for all MM fans when I saw that if we can't go out and buy another guitar for ourselves, it's a close second hearing the details of someone else who can.

I only wish you could have taken some snapshots of the stores even if it's just cell phone quality.

Gawd, what a Silo slut. :D

It's interesting, to start out with a fresh, unbiased outlook, only to wind up at the same conclusion you made last time around.

Congrat's, Lionel. Rosewood HSS is a great choice. (Is it too early to ask what pickups you'll be throwing into that bad boy? lol)

Heh... I've already dumped in the CS69s for the neck and middle. I'm stumped as to what I want for the bridge pup. I was something with less mids, but higher output. But I'm afraid the Steve's Special will be too hot for the CS69s...:p

That's the deal, yes. I guess you haven't tried it on your others either?

Position 2 and 3 are what's most affected, but not necessarily in a bad way. 2 is the most used position on the HSS now.

Let us know what you decide and how it works out.

I've found what I want. I THINK. It's the Air Classic Bridge in white. It's also scooped mids like the Steve's Special, but is a low output pup. Should match the CS69s nicely. Question is, I can't get one here. My local dealer doesn't have it, and it takes 6 months for them to order one for me. Need to find another source. Wish me luck! Heheh...

P.S. Check out that ONE sound clip on the dimarzio site. It sounds exactly like what I'm looking for!!!!

Of course, if anyone here (like Phil did) is nice enough to offer to help me secure one from your local dealer, I'd be more than happy to work out the details! Heh...
