I was at my local guitar center yesterday trying out a few axes when I got to talking to another guy who was there playing around. It turns out he bought a Warwick $$ which he loved the tone but couldnt get it setup right without buzzing. He took it back to GC twice but with no luck. He plugged in an HH Sterling when I started telling him about how great MM instruments are, and how I've owned several without ever having any issues. He almost immediately realized how f'in good the Sterling felt and sounded. He left with the HH Sterling, and the poor warwick went back up on the wall.

At that point I felt that I should have asked for some sort of compensation, but realizing that I was able to spread the word of how awesome MM products are, I felt that was enough.

Nice, I know I have helped move a few Bongos and it is a great feeling sharing the love with the less "enlightened."

Last month when I bought my EBVPJr @ GC there was an old guy tooling arond with a MIA J while I was testing the vollume pedal with an HH Bongo. We chewed the fat a bit. Said he gave up bass for a long time and wants to get back into it (geezers ;))

Geezer "What do you think about Fenders"?
Me "Hit or Miss"
Me "Have you tried a Music Man"?
Geezer "Music Man? They were just coming out when I quit playing"
Me "You should try one then. Here's a Bongo"
Geezer ended up buying a Stingray but WTH ya know?

Had a very similar story with a Sterling at my local GC last week. A friend called me to look at a Schecter for him to see if it was a good bass in my opinion and we ended up walking out with a killer deal on a Sterling that had been hanging in there for over a year. I took it home gave it a good setup and the wonderwipe treatment and damn, it is a great bass. Just needed a little TLC.

I keep telling him that if it would have had a maple fretboard rather than the rosewood, I would have bought it!

when I first started to look at bass's I heard allot of positive press about the Stingray, and Music Man instruments in general. So when I walked into to Guitar Center to try out basses I tried out Fenders, Warwicks, Ibanezs, ect. but when I started trying out the Music Man basses they just felt...'right' compared to everything else, almost like a slice of heaven among basses. then I went home and found out about a little thing called Dargie and that was the end of that :p

Didn't know I was considered the Jack of the SR5s.

Ironically, I have one of Jack's old SR5s. (Which I love :D)

Good job Hank! Always good to get the MM love out.
