Well... after a week, the new arrival Bongo finally settled in with the South Carolina heat and humidity... I noticed a good buzz up and down the fretboard... easy tweak with the truss rod...

well... then comes the problem.

Without an allen wrench within arms reach... I noticed my cheap Apple ear buds within reach... so throught process. Mini Jack -> about same size as allen wrench -> grab ear buds-> proceed to tweak the truss rod.

*Snap*

So now I have a piece of the mini jack chilling in the wheel... And I suppose I should have learn my lesson to go grab an allen wrench... Nope.... but a nail worked just fine and the adjustments were made... plays like butter once again.

Moral of the story. Don't use the mini jack from your headphones to tweak your truss rod... should never stick something into something that it shouldn't be there anyways :p

Yes do not drink & Use ear buds for truss rod, but it makes for a Hellava Conversation over Coffee at Starbucks.

Good job man. As long as you don't play near any salt water that thing should look perfect

APPARENTLY you're not supposed to stick your finger in the large Wonder Wipes containers as well. :p

Yeah, I found an old Q-tip under my couch and well, you know, my wheel is now full of wax and cotton...

My list of things not to discuss on this forum is growing.

thats a good lesson to learn you should also never put anything wet in or on your ipod at anytime (thats why mine doesn't have the ability to play music in stereo, stupid radio near the shower) :(

My best friend called me today and asked "So, what do you know about the Sears return policy on tools?"

He was trying to figure out a starter/solenoid/wiring/whatever problem on his car and forgot to disconnect the battery.

Without getting into details, suffice it to say that he welded a ratchet solid.

He's a musician.

BP is right. Never give wrenches to musicians.

Heck... I wasn't even around wrenchs and I got into trouble... I think is scary when you have a musician with too much time on his hand and is bored... and just felt like tweaking the bass for no apparent reason.

I work on diesels for a living, but man, I have run across musicians who don't know which way to turn a bolt...like my guitarist.
So it is rather funny hearing about stories like these.
