And... it's only present on 4 strings HS Rays, the Sterlings and SR5 single pickup is hum canceling and doesn't need a dummy coil.

Another "shocked" propietary of a 4HS Stingray with the hidden pickup.
Until found this thread I didn't know the reason for that hidden single coil.
Actually, the bass is a real jewel and the desing works.

Any EBMM dealer can order them for you. There's also a couple online places to get after-market guards...I just can't think of any right now.

BTW, I thought that EBMM started putting the phantom coil for the HS models directly under the single coil on the newer models...Can anyone confirm or deny this? Or is that only for LEs like an HS 20th SR5 and HS BFR Sterling that don't have a pick guard?

Hello Mynan, no idea of the new ones. Mine is a model of the past year.

I know a lot of online stores that sells Stingray pickguards but not a single one for HS models. Sadly I don't have any other possibility here in Spain.
Any help will be really appreciated. ;)

I've heard good things about these guys. Yours would be pattern 35026, I believe.

the pickup and electronics may have been altered on newer basses since that video, as i tried the same thing and got a lot quieter response than the other two pickups. also, the route is deeper and the springs and screws aren't any longer to accomodate for such. so you can have an hss, but, aside from bp, dargin, others having recommended against it, you probably won't hear the middle s much or at all to get your time/money's worth.
