Due to the lack of new threads. here’s an easy topic for everyone.

What computer brings you to this forum. You don’t have to give brands names.

Mac or PC

Desktop or Laptop

I’m on a Mac laptop. It’s become a third appendage while I’m in my BarcaLounger watching TV.

WinBlows @ work and I have a Linux Netbook for home use. But there are also WinBlows machines for the kids. Though I have to say that once they stop supporting SuXP, I'll migrate those machines to some variant of Linux. I like the Mac idea for my wife and kids, but I hate having to pay for the OS upgrades.

Several Winblows PCs...laptops and desktops. Preference is Linux.

Absolutely no plans to go Mac...3X the price for the same hardware, simply for the 'privaledge' of running MacOS. Apple can keep it.

Glenn... once you go Mac, you’ll never go back.

BD, but all Mac OSX is, is Unix tweaked. I was using Unix in the 80's/90's when Apple was still just a pup.

I tell you I'm a really big fan of Linux and has tried, many, many different distro's. My daughters seemed to like Mint the best so far. It's a variant of Ubuntu.

I'm running Moblin from Intel on my Acer SSD Netbook, it's a very, very simplistic distro, it serves the purpose for surfing and IM.

If Mac OSX where free to upgrade I might give it a go, I've play around with it and it's not bad. My brothers and parents use it. My mom is a Mac lover, but she has seen and uses Linux on her Nokia N700 and she like it just as much.

i've often made linux suggestions for those not wanting to fork out the bucks for a MAC. I honestly switched to MAC last year when i thought i was going to be out of a job and felt it would be a good idea to learn the ins and outs of the MAC world so i could be competitive in the job market... so there was a good reason for going to MAC... and i just stayed with it at home... it's pretty much a hop on and work... and plus i can record to it with relative ease...

You should have made this a poll.

Die-hard PC user here (laptop). Mac's advertising kills any interest in any of their products for me.

I thought of a poll afterwards.

I’ve never even seen a Linex computer. I don’t know much about them. I know they cost alot less but I don’t know if they would run the programs I need for art. In my field of graphic design, Macs are the computer of choice.
