I've mostly been playing stuff from Death Magnetic by Metallica, the Purple Rain album by Prince and the Revolution (don't laugh at that, Prince rules!), and working on my own material as well.

I should stop writing music that I have difficulties playing 6 months later. :p

I haven't been playing much at all. I had a cyst form in my right hand from work and bad arthritis attacking the same hand as of this week. :(

On top of that, I don't have an avatar.:(:(

I'm trying to get a new band together. We are focusing a bit on 80s rock... it's pretty fun to play.

Some new stuff I have been working on is A Million Miles Away - Plimsouls, Just What I Needed - The Cars, Suffragette City - David Bowie. I have also been trying Too Hot To Handle by UFO, but am failing miserably at soloing that fast.

I'm STILL trying to get my brain and fingers to play Larry Carlton's Kid Charlemagne solo and the basic riff in Don't Give It Up, up to speed. After nearly two months practicing them I'm getting fairly close.
It's tough being uncoordinated. haha

In amongst jamming to various backing tracks, I just dug out an old copy of GT magazine which has a a transcription of Bebop Deluxe - Adventures in a Yorkshire Landscape. Fantastic solo full of legato phrasing.

purple is in dubai on march 20th. going ?

what's the climate like that time of year ??
Tommy - the climate is perfect in Dubai at that time of the year.

On the 3 occasions I have been to Dubai (they have all been around March/April), I have known it to go above 40 degrees (hot!!) but it's generally around the low 30's might even get some rain - i was there last year and I think I saw a cloud once !! ;)
