I'm wondering how long it took from your order to delivery of your instrument. So please share your experiences. I'm just curious to find out other's wait times.

thanks,
Andrew

p.s. EBMM guitars or basses only

Mingus, funny you should ask. . .

I ordered my new Buttercream Bongo 5HH
yesterday (1/26) & I'm expecting 5/1. My dealer
"says" SLO quoted 10-12 weeks but said it may
come in sooner (I hope so). Sure wish there was
something I could do to expedite production of
my bass @ SLO . . perhaps I'll send Jon some coffee,
cigars, or scotch?

BTW, if you want to know what I paid, PM me.

When I ordered my Bongo 4 HH, it took five months for it to finally reach my door. Turn around time is 3-5 months for these things. Try to keep your mind off it and maybe you won't go insane! :p

I ordered a fretless sr4 the day after thanksgiving -- although I don't think the order was called in until the following monday. I was told yesterday that its in the finishing department and to expect a couple more weeks.

I'd be curious as to how long a musicman bass takes to make. I wish there was a way for the average person to see what goes into making one and how they do their magic at the factory. I would love to see some pics of the process.

I ordered a Bongo HH on January 10th and was told to expect a mid-March delivery. I know this flies in the face of everything I've read here and elsewhere, but I'm prepared for it to be much later. My dealer is one of the biggest in the country, so I don't know if that counts for anything. I told my sales guy that I knew it would take a while, so I don't see why he would feel the need to lie to me.

I remember someone who posted pics of the EBMM factory and basses in progress, but I forgot where I saw it, Talkbass I think, and it's a long time ago

They could show ya but they'd have to kill ya. :p

(Would have been funny if a link of the factory tour wouldn't have been already posted - Jeesh)

I don't think it's a coincidence that the Bongo in your avatar is the same exact color as the Don Julio bottle

Waiting can be a pain BUT from what I've heard, with things at SLO they could hire on more staff to make wait times shorter when it's high volume season but then they'd have to lay-off folks when it slows down. What I understand about the company is that by keeping a good, smaller(but adequate) team , the wait time for an order might be longer BUT the build quality is great and the local economy doesn't suffer from big hires and then lay-offs at the factory... if this is the case then hey, the wait is definitely worth the ethics!!
