So you got your drummer - I went for John Bonham, now you got to choose the other members! (alive or dead) see http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15774

This is the line up I'd have

Drummer John Bonham

Vocalist Paul Rogers (Free, Bad Co, Queen)

Second guitarist Paul Kossoff (Back Street Crawler/Free)

Pino Palladino on Bass (too many to mention and as many already know I turned him down once at audition-once !)

Keyboards John Mayall/Jools Holland !!!

Gunslinger/Slide player - Sonny Landreth.

What would your lineup be? - maximum of 8 (thats eight!) including you.

As much as I love Neil Peart's playing and personality (he's written some amazing books of which I've read every one), I think if I could put together my dream band it would be too heavy for him. :)

With the stuff I've been writing lately (which borders on ridiculous) this is probably what I'd pick:

Drums : Chris Adler or Kenneth Schalk
Bass : Sean Malone (6 string)
Guitar : Me (7 string)
Guitar : John Petrucci (gotta go with JP here!) (7 string)
Vocals : either Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) or Kyle Thomas (Exhorder, close friend of mine too :)) maybe even Philip Anselmo (if he gets it together; also a friend of mine).

I could handle that. ;)

Well, this is an impossible task ... I put together a dozen lineups in my head ... but I'll throw this one out:

Mike Patton on vocals (Faith No More, etc.)
Flea on bass
Dave Grohl on drums and backup vocals
Dave Navarro on backup guitars
And me kicking ass on lead guitars (sorry Dave)

Ahh Spud. Another tuff one. But here it goes.

Vocals: Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) or Freddie Mercury. Whoever answered my call first:)

Lead Guitar: Dimebag Darrell(RIP)

Rhythm Guitar: James Hetfield

Bass: Steve Harris (Iron Maiden)

Drummer: Neil Peart

P.S. Jonny Dubai...Nice call on Ritchie Kotzen. Great guitarist and under-rated as a singer.

Beej...Nice call on Mike Patton, too.

Is this one of those "Dream Band" threads.

Here's mine, but it'll probably change tomorrow.

Drums: Jerry Gaskill
Bass and Lead Vocals: DUg Pinnick
Guitar and backing vocals: Ty Tabor.

Now this would be a great band, oh well, l can dream. :p :p

Scott.

Wow, I didn't know TNT was that well known in the US. Tony Harnell's got a fantastic voice, and it's a real shame he left the band. TNT is from my home town, and I saw the last concert with their original bassist Morty Black in 04.

Here's my line up:
Vocals/Keys: Steve Walsh
Drums: Ian Paice
Bass: Dave LaRue
Guitar: Steve Lukather

* I think Rothery might have a hard time hanging with those guys. He's great at playing what he plays, but as you said...that band is SCARY! (Tony Harnell is a fantastic choice by the way! Too bad he left TNT.)

Gary

Gary,

I think those other players would bring out the best in Rothery and he would rise to the occasion. At first I thought I might have put him in 'over his head' too, but I have the greatest confidence in his musicianship (if that's a word). :)

Chris K,

I've been a TNT fan since "Knights of the New Thunder". In fact, that's probably still my favorite from their collective output. That original lineup was great with Morty Black, Diesel Dahl, Ronnie LeTekro and Tony. TNT aren't very well known here in the USA, but there was a small window when "Tell No Tales" came out, when MTV played the video for "10,000 lovers" once in a while.

Tony's been one of my favorite voices for a long time.

First post on these boards, signed up here because I'm expecting my JP6 to arrive very soon. :D

Anyways, I think this'd make an interesting lineup:

Drums: Virgil Donati
Bass: Dave LaRue
Keys: Jordan Rudess
Guitars: John Petrucci
Vocals: Mikael Åkerfeldt
