OLi We dont plan on painting over the rosewood that people are paying a premium for...fretless...why would we offer a rosewood fretless when it is not durable? It is pretty clear....these are fun little collectables

I negociated a good price with my dealer for a Sterling BFR five string in natural finish with tort guard.

Anyone know how a solid rosewood neck will standup to time. Any integrity problems with warping or twisting?

What did Big Poppa mean by: ....these are fun little collectables .....

more stable than maple, which is renowned for warping.

That rosewood not being durable thing is because fretless rosewood boards get torn up by rounds, not because the wood is 'not durable'.

Very very stable. I just wish I had the $$$ to get in on this deal.

Me too, Koogs....I keep imagining a fiver version of BP's rosewood neck Bongo....and then I remember I have to pay for the family to go to Lima, Peru, in January and that's the end of that.

I don't think we've ever had a neck problem with our rosewood Axis line and we've sold hundreds. We also don't offer the Sterling 5 BFR yet. Give us a call at 866-823-2255 if you have any other questions.
