Some prelim drawing/sketches here for a design of an instrument sideboard, capable of housing 6 Balls and a CPU..

That looks cool. Just a suggestion from someone not really educated in design of any kind: if you are going to place a computer there, you might want to leave space below it for the legs, just as a desk. A computer on top of a drawer for example is not really comfortable to use. That's just my experience though, I guess it also depends on what use you are planning to give to that computer.

I'd build a vertical unslotted cabinet. Then simply slot in the cases side by side. If you do it horizontally, then you got to take in the various heights of the cases. And this way, aren't you limiting yourself to 6 balls only??? Heheheh...

Hey Jimmy,

well, I guess the best way to house your balls would be

...oh, and the matching maintenance kit:

 ;) :D

...no honestly - I like the idea of a drawer based storage. Nice design. Never thought of that. :)

Good consideration there, dude! Slotting them vertically will however use up precious real estate for amps, effects, chairs... Too many black cases dont look too good aesthetically either :p

The individual drawers will be laid with carpet material - only guitars in, NO CASE!! :D Hows that my fren?

Storaging the guitars inside their cases will be double-handling when trying to take out the guitars. I pull out the drawer, I take my ball out, as simple as that! :D And when I need to service my Balls, simply put them on the top of the cabinet (on a soft carpet of cos..)

Yup - 6 Balls are enuff. One each day, leaving Sunday for a nice walk with the wife. ;)

Great idea. A friend on another forum made this one to help deal with super humid temperatures in his area. He made it from standard closet storage stuff like you can get at Home Depot or something.

Nice! And everyone look at the pull-out pedal board - thats cool! Really some inspiration there Slingy!

I thought of standing the guitars upright too, but I really cant afford the space for an upright standing cabinet. Therefore utilising the "dead space" under the window. Furthermore, I am very clumsy, may knock the other guitars down if I tried to take 1 out! I think it plays safe to let them sleep horizontally in an enclosed drawer. ;)

Hey Raf, cant really do much here. Must really compromise with the given area. The computer is mainly for web-surfing purpose, no work to strain the back man..

Leg room for me, or storage space for the Balls? Hmm.. I pick the later. :D

Seconded. If I ever get to build that dreamhouse, I'm having one of these installed somewhere. :D

Wow!

Finally guys. Some latest update here on constructing a cabinet to allow a computer workspace as well as storing all my Balls.

Many thanks to RocketRalf for his advice to me to provide leg room under the computer area.

Here are the pics:

Wow that turned out great!

Personally, I like my balls on the walls. If I'm not playing, I like them where I can see and admire them.
