I like the "one neck per model" philosophy, so I'm not sure I'd want to see different Axis necks. For that you have other models.

As far as other woods, p'up options- EBMM had that with the Sports which were discontinued. But you can still find the ash Sports with SSH, SSS, HH and MM90s out there. The sports are under-rated gems. (But of course, no Floyds.)

The only issue I have with the ASS is the location of the 5-way. If anything, it would be cool to have it angled like on a strat. I find it more ergonomic that way since it would be in line with your hand motion.

I'd love to see the Axis with an alternative pickup configuration. I would certainly buy one with HB, SC, SC pickups rather than the current 2 HB, 2 P90 options.

Don't mess with the neck as it's perfect!

One thought I have is a wrap-around stoptail similar to what PRS does on several of their models. I really like that type of setup -- nice clean design.

I mentioned in another post that I read a guitar magazine many years ago that had nothing but EVH content. Much of the magazine was focused on the development of the EBMM EVH. If I recall, there were several pictures of prototypes and I could have sworn that I saw one with this type of stoptail. I could have been wrong about that. Maybe it was a bridge setup like the one used on the Morse. I just seem to remember it being a stoptail and thinking: "that's cool!".

I actually don't mind the axis neck width. Although, I'd like to try one with a little wider neck. Just to see how it feels.

And I'd love to see a carved top Axis:D

I saw that picture too. It was an amber EVH stoptail, and it had a tunomatic only bridge, like a Les Paul Junior. Looked pretty awesome to me!

The guitar is nearly perfect. There's only one thing I'd like changed... stainless steel frets please!

Definately don't change the neck, and definately keep the floyd flush mounted

I wouldn't change anything on the Floyd model. It's perfect IMHO.

The Super Sport, I would love to change the control setup. I'd love the volume, tone, and 5-way switch set at an angle.

And I'd love an archtop with a stoptail/tune-o-matic bridge.

I think you're right...it was amber. I remember being really sad that this design didn't make it into production. I'm not a big tremelo guy to begin with and really don't care for a floyd rose setup. That picture looked just perfect to me :)

I'm getting my hardtail hopefully by March. I think I'll be quite happy with that, but that stoptail looked sweet.
