So, there's a SR5 for sale over at TB.

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=259670

How many things can you spot with this ad?

Let's see...Egyptian Smoke? Not disontinued....

Black Pearloid? Neither black, nor pearloid.

I informed the genius of these facts. I showed him the color chart. His response? He couldn't find them on the build a bass page so he was sticking with his original copy. I guess the Bongos and 2 pickup Stingrays and Sterlings don't exist either.

He thanked me for my "help." The quotes were his. I told him he was "welcome."

A mod has now deleted my posts. I sent him a PM that will probably get me a vacation from Talkbass. :D

God forbid someone point out factural errors to help prevent someone from buying something they think is discontinued and it's not. Or, if they are expecting something with a black pearloid pickguard....

What can you do? You tried to help.

That is a nice "black pearloid" phthon pickguard though.

I was thinking that I might suggest that whoever buys it call MMCS to get some touch up paint since they still have that color.

Yeah, well, the guy selling the bass was nice enough to inform me that Musicman doesn't offer any python pickguard....cuz it wasn't on the build a bass page....

Whatever he wants to call it, it's priced about 200 bucks too high for a used SR5 with big old bites taken out of it.

Amen! That's the first thing I noticed about that bass when it was listed a couple days ago. I would not pay $1000 for bass with damage like that. If that was hanging on the wall at a music store those chips would easily take the price down 200-300 dollars........

Well, FWIW, questioning someone's price is against the rules over there. I'm cool with that--he's entitled to ask what he wants. He can figure that one out on his own when it doesn't sell quickly.

I just wanted the facts straight.

And somewhere a village was deprived of an idiot :) Seriously, I hate TB because of the tools that hang out there.

Well, that's silly. I hang out there--am I a tool? You can't blame the website for being popular. There'd be a lot more fools here if there were 35,000+ members, too.
