Would you consider an iPod to replace the CDs you haul around? It's easy to load and it might fill the bill for The Guitar Shop's needs. The nano is both PC and MAC compatible and has a good bit of memory. I'm not at all sure that you could dump from the iPod to the station's computer but maybe it's possible that this would work for you! Anyone know?If so, that would allow you more space for your desktop and more $ to get a great computer. I use a PC at work and a MAC at home. Both have +s and -s.

Hey Janice! I just saw this, I haven't been on the board in a few days.
A couple of the DJs at the station use iPods for their show, although the problem is it's harder to use than the laptop and harder if you get requests. Joe has an iPod I could borrow, if I wanted to go that route.
The station is set up for both iPod and laptop through the broadcast board.
However, we've settled on a computer (finally) and resolved the desk issue.
And I'm sorry to have hijacked the original thread, MJ!
When the room is all done, I promise I'll post pics.
And Janice, I might be asking questions re; your Mac expertise (yes, I'm getting a Mac laptop, long story, but anyway there it is) - the room should be done by the end of February.
I will need a large drink or two.
thanks to all who responded and who helped me through my dilemna!
hugs
