Got my interface and mic one day and the next day I made these recordings. First time recording with an interface and such. Let me know what you think:

SoundClick MP3: Saxnbass - Band page with free MP3 music downloads on SoundClick

Edit: Fretless Passage to Bangkok (as it says) is a MIM Fender Jazz and TruBass clip is a Fender '54 RI P. The rest are all my Sterling.

Bass->Pedal Board->EBS HD350 Head->Direct Out of head (it's has a nice XLR output)->M Audio 410 Interface->mac->Garage Band

Did no editing other than raising the volume just a tad.

That interface (and bass, of course!)sounds great!! The tone is very broad and true to the Sterling's character. Nice job!

Thanks. Fretless Passage to Bangkok (as it says) is a MIM Fender Jazz and TruBass clip is a Fender '54 RI P. Not sure if that one was specified. The rest are all the Sterling through each effect on my pedal board (currently).

Nice slap chops...

Never been able to get the hang of slap/pop. Fortunately it's not really my cup of tea (perhaps because I've never been able to get the hang of it.... :D ), but I like hearing it well done from time to time.

Thanks. I used to slap all the time and that's probably why the chops are the way they are. I don't think they're great, but I think they're not bad. :)

I've just gave a listening to all the clips. I really like your tone and I specially liked how clean and articulate sounds your "fast slap" clip. Great stuff!

Thanks a bunch Alva. Means a lot coming from a killer player like you. Used to slap a lot and really worked on the cleanliness of my techniques. I play a lot, like 4 hours a day for the last month or so, but I don't really practice. :) Like 5 hours of play and only 5 minutes of practice. lol
