To me this finish is one of the most interesting, especially on bass guitars. Whether you pair it with a maple fretboard or rosewood (or ebony) or with a black, white, black-ice, etc. pickguard. It is somehow mysterious because it is one of those "at the second glance" finishes.

Depending on the light it is either a shiny black (e.g. with rather yellow electric light) but with white day (and of course stage) light the deep blue emerges. Most images I have been seing on the web do the color no justice - or, in the worst case - disappoint the buyer who orders via internet and finds the finish too dark in the living room.

What are you're thoughts, if any?

Cheers and Servus!

Almost all "burst" finishes look great to me. But I guess the majority of people like warm finished basses so it's not so common. Personally, if I will be buying new instrument - PBB and trans teal are first in the color list for me if we are excluding some rare or exclusive colors.

It is a very interesting color in deed. It has a green hue to it too that doesn't show up very well in most pictures.

blue burst is always an interesting color on guitars. due to interaction with the wood underneath sometimes it looks greenish, and other times bluish. This is also due to the light used. I almost picked up a PBB with a rosewood FB, but they only had it available in HH at the time, which I didn't want. So instead I got the Blue Pearl in single H. I have been very happy.

Love the blue burst. I was at this guy's house one day and he had a cherry burst Ray that had me drooling. I want one VERY bad.

Yeah, definitely gotta be on either Maple, swamp ash, or a similar wood. other woods are too dark, and it also helps to have some interesting grain or figure to look at.

Love that color. I have a Black Cherry Burst SR4 that looks amazing but is hard to photograph as are many EBMM finishes. Blue Dawn is another winner!
