What's up, folks?!

My piezo system in my Silo doesn't work anymore. I went to a guitar store here in Germany and they told me that either the battery is just empty, or the whole system is broken.

So, i changed the battery (which ran out of charge REALLY quickly) and it worked again. For a 2 weeks...

Now, it's just the same, no sound.
What should I do?

I bought it second hand, so I don't have any warranty or receipt, at all. The guys from the guitar store told me to send it directly to Music Man, but since I don't have a receipt or somethin' I would have to pay for everything.

What do you think?

Thanks so much,

Jerry

HI JJ
As the guitar is second hand than obviously it's not covered by warranty.

Smelly is right insofar as contact customer service. I realise a phone call might be expensive - you could try an e mail.

As I have just re furbished a JP with Piezo let me tell you the problems I had (with a well used JP). But before I do this - make sure that you don't leave the lead connected to your guitar otherwise that (I believe) will drain the battery?

My issues were no power to the piezo pre amp, which resulted from a broken wire underneath the battery box. and a broken Piezo toggle switch.
I could go into more detail - however I don't believe it to be relevant to your problem.

Good luck in getting it fixed and I'm sure that you will - keep us informed?

....

Excatly what I was thinking of, make sure you remove the cable or the system will be "on" for too long hence the short live battery cycle

m, kay... that's an idea... I never remove the cable. That might come from all the guitars with passive pickups i have.

I will check this out.

Otherwise, the service told me to go to a official music man seller in germany for help, even though it's not covered.
So the problem, it would appear, is that the battery is constantly engaged. It may have a problem with the internal wiring. Since it is not under warranty, it would not be covered, but at least they should be able to help.

But i have one thing left. I only had this last battery for about 2 weeks and it's already empty, so how long does it take with "common" using the piezo and removing the cable?

Thanks, buddies!
