Well like many of you, I enjoy buying new basses. With the Dargies coming soon I will have 3 Rays. I love em all but for some reason feel guilty cause they're all pretty much the same (single H's 2 3-bands and 1 2-band) and they're kind of rare too. Then there's my painful GAS for a HH Ray. I already plan to axe off one of my non MM basses but I know that wouldnt be enough to finance the HH. Should I sell one of my sparkles to finance the HH? I really am not a collector, just a gear whore. What should I do guys and gals?

I dunno guys, as much as I like the Black 2-band, I think that would be the one to sell. I find myself preferring the 3 band eq and rosewood boards more these days. Ah well I'm gonna sleep on it, hopefully I dont drive myself crazy.

my philosophy when i cant decide on what to sell is to sell what would be easier to replace. i dont keep track of the used market but i assume a 2 bander in sparkle finish would be harder to find.

Bass ownership is like water flowing down a river. Basses flow in and out of your life and you are both richer for the experience. Seriously--even if you do get an HH, do you honestly think that's the last bass you'll ever buy? Of course it isn't. So, don't worry too much about it. Sell the current bass you are playing the least, and don't look back.

It's like a friendship. You have friends you no longer keep in touch with, right? You expect to meet new friends in the future, right? Basses = Friends.

You will just go out and add the new bass to your collection (even though you say you are not a collector) and not worry weather you sell one of the others..

Personally, I wouldn't sell any sparkle finish bass. I had a sparkle black Sterling that I sold--I've regretted it ever since. And sparkle finishes are hard to find at a good price these days. What the hell? Keep 'em all! Buy the new one. The more, the merrier, right?
