Someone please reassure me this is OK

Since getting the PDN, my first love, the '07 Axis, hasn't been getting as much quality time. I pulled her out of the case last night, and noticed a flaw in the neck. It's very hard to see, even harder to photograph, but I've circled it in the photo as best I can. It begins between the fourth and fifth frets and extends down almost to the third. I can't feel it with my thumb when playing, but if I brush a fingernail across it, it catches. If the neck had a finish on it, I'd think it was a small crack in the finish, but of course, it doesn't.

I tried to tell myself to just keep an eye on it and not worry about it, but naturally, I've been obsessing over it since I discovered it. As much as I love the PDN, this one's still my baby, and I can't even bring myself to use the c word to describe what's going on here.

Sounds like the grain has raised just slightly there - guitar needs more playing time to smooth that down!

I agree with Kevin. You could lightly sand then re oil/wax. If it is a "c", you'll know then! Remember to breath.

This Kevin concurs. I'm sure it'll can sand it back nicely with 600 and 1200 grit next time you oil and wax.

Thanks for making me feel better about it guys. I definitely had a panic attack last night when I discovered it. I'm overdue for an oil and wax, but I'm going to swap case positions so I can begin the "hand sanding" process sooner.
