You nailed it, well half of it actually, they are both Duncans. The bridge pickup is not "logoed" because it's a one off. As for the extra string, I use it as a clotheslineDuncan neck pickup?
A joker at the factory put an exttra string on it for a laugh![]()
The "red" cases come with the JP7's I think the 6er's get black interiors. The red interior of the case?![]()

How do the Duncan's sound? I would have stuck with the factory DiMarzio's but thats just me. I love the way DiMarzio's sound. Different strokes for different folks I guess.-Phil
It's a 59'.What model is in the neck?
Good move keeping the originals, god forbid you ever have to sell that purdy thang!![]()
To me they sound fantastic, Clear, well defined, great response across all frequencies. The Diz's sounded harsh to me ( but that's me). So in the "replaced pickup box" they went.
Which particular DiMarzio's do you love the sound of, they all sound defferent. Or are you just saying you "love" all Dimarzio's reguardless of model or application as a blanket statement?QUOTE]
The DiMarzio models that I really love are the D-Sonic (D-Sonic 7 especially since I used to have one in my RG1527), Air Norton 7, Steve's Special, and the PAF Pro.

The D sonic was about 85% "there" for me, but the Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge brought it to 100% .
I tried the D Sonic both directions before it was switched.
The DiMarizo PAF Pro has always been to muddy for my tastes, not enough note definition while soloing (IMO).
I did, the blade towards the neck was a little clearer, better freq. balance (IMO) the blade towards the bridge didn't do it for me. That it works out for others has a lot to do with the guitar itself, amp, tone desires, ect. When you tried the blade of the D Sonic both ways, did you notice a difference? Just curious. I tried it before in my old RG1527 and I loved the way it sounded with the blade facing the bridge.
