My Roasted Big Al sold unexpectedly last week, so I took a chance and put a deposit on a Sledge Saber Classic. Rosewood board. I'll be counting the months till it shows up, here's hoping we get along.
Anybody else made a purchase yet?

Sledge Saber Classic with maple board.
I feel the same way but figure if I hate it (doubtful) there will be lots who missed the window of opportunity willing to grab it from me. I am thinking delivery around May/June since they still have not shipped all of the last batch of PDN's.

I'm going to go a Maple Board Sabre over here in OZ.

I love the position of the Neck Pick-up, I just can't get used to the where EBMM have them on the SR HH's and Bongo. They get in the way of the way I Slap (well the slap part of Slap ......but the pull part :)

Same here. Tried an SR5 HH, but had to sell it again because the neck pup made it impossible to pop properly. (I was going to write "to me" in the middle of that sentence, but it's a better tongue twister without.)

The Sabre looks better suited to my style, but is it? Please report back with your experiences when you get it!

I'm expecting a 4 month wait.. But I'll let y'all know when I do. I have never played a bass that hindered my right hand techniques, Just necks and setups that feel better than others.
