Okay, I have a B.C. rich warlock metal master (fixed bridge), and i recently bought a pack of ernie ball 2215, skinny top heavy bottom.

I installed these and tuned them down to Drop C# (Db, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb) using my tuner. My tuner says that all of them are tuned up and accurate, but when I play the fifth and first string, they sound very deep and not tuned. I am sure I have installed these strings correctly because I have changed guitar strings before.

When I try tuning by ear (Very unexperienced with this) the 5th and first string get very tense and feel like they can snap and they are still too deep. I can tell the Other strings are in tune because i checked the 3rd and 4th strings and they are accurate.

I ordered these strings for ebay, could these be defective strings? Please help. Thank you.

Unknown, it's not the strings (if in fact they are genuine EB strings - it's your setup) or *see below.

The only other possibility is that the person (I assume not a company) you bought them from may have included the wrong string gauges. So that while the tuner shows them in tune, they are not the "correct" string to use in that position(s).

try tuning them to E and see if that improves things? If it does you may want to look at a set of strings designed for detuning like the Beefy Slinky Nickel Wounds
