This past weekend my girlfriend and I went to Guitar Center. I helped her noodle around on some guitars (looking for an upcoming birthday present for her) and then we wandered over to the bass section. We had a beautiful selection of Stingrays, Stingray 5s, and two 25th. I noodled on the 5-string 25th HH for a bit and absolutely loved it.

Then I eyed the Stingray Classic that was sitting up on the rack. I wasn't expecting our store to actually have one. I pulled it down off the shelf, plugged back into the Mesa I was playing, and started to mess with it. I fell in love with the tone! If I had had the 15% coupon with me at the time, I would've walked out of the store with that bass. I really loved the tone I got with the treble and bass about halfway, and fell it love with it entirely after boosting the bass a tad bit more.

I currently own a 6 string Bongo, probably the hardest beast to tame out of the MM line. But I can honestly say that I enjoyed kicking back on a 4 string. It lets you go back to the basics, sit back, and really enjoy playing again. I love my Bongo 6, but sometimes I feel obligated to use the entire playing field (and I do. I like the range and opportunities it gives me). The four string takes me home, in a sense. "It's a warm blanket," a quote whose source I can't remember. I really enjoyed playing it so much so that I am looking into getting a 4 string as an auxiliary bass (for church gigs or small jam sessions).

Right now, I am stuck, pretty much, between all of the models. I would love to get another Bongo, but the girlfriend says "Why two of the same model?" I would love to try a Big Al. I would love to own a Stingray Classic. I would love to own pretty much any 4 string at this point! What options do I have and what do people recommend?

If anything, I just want to thank EBMM for inspiring my musical voice and personality. You make amazing tools for expression and I am inspired every time I pick up one of your instruments. No other company has done that for me EVERY time. Keep on rocking guys!
