Wow, I never thought EBMM would be thought of not looking "traditional" enough!!!

Apple pie, baseball & EBMM guitars (all of them)!!! Love it!!!:)

My attitude was - you don't like it? F*&$ off.

Jack, I guess I just needed more of that attitude that night...it was the first time I'd played out in public in over a year so was feeling self consious anyway. Next time I should bring....the dargie :p:p

Steve,

I get where you're coming from, I went through major hassles with my mate LUm and most of the other players I know - I wanted to get a custom shop strat for the "must have collection" - I tried and tried and found plenty I liked, then a used AL came up on the forum it was $800 so not much of a gamble if it sucked,

Needless to say the AL is still in my vault and will never leave, my thoughts of then purchasing traditional instruments has long gone, I too have gone to a couple of blues gigs and get some looks over the shape of my AL Vs. something traditional.
One guy came up to me and asked if I made the 'Strat copy myself!!!!!! - I took it as a massive compliment, he didn't come back and ask any more questions after the first set....either my playing sucked (Entirely possibe) or he heard the tone and shut his stupid mouth!!!

I guess what I'm trying to say is if you like the look feel and sound, screw 'em all - who the hell wants to be conventional - not me - that's why I'm here- my ultimate tag line for EBMM products would be - "think different" - 'cause that's what it's all about for me here....

I recently bought a Mercedes, and the guy was showing me silver ones, black ones, more silver ones, and then I spotted the one I bought - MAGMA RED! - how's that for a non-standard merc - - Thinking different.......

I hope all this makes sesnse!

Ach you know what F**K em.

The axis looks pretty traditional enough though I suppose.
Ive got a tobaccoburst quilt and a trans gold flame so I suppose I would get by ok.
Still would not stop me showing up with a dargie if I had one though or a pink EVH.

These people are set in their ways dude, I really feel for their narrow mindedness.
Jam night I go to its pretty much all strats. I take my supersport every looks at it and wonders what it is. My tobaccoburst quilt axis would just floor them with its beauty though.

I might just take my franky replica down when its finished just to cause a stir...

Don't let them bother you...I agree screw'em. I think it is a good way to be different and stand out instead of being a replaceable cookie cut robot. Besides it is all in the sound and the EBMMs rock.

Let the music do the talking.

I decided to have a go at a local pub based jam session last night. Usual story of all the old bluesers and jazzers out to play. So there was the usual smattering of black teles, white strats, lp's and a real nice honeyburst 335. All nice, safe and classic...I then get up to play and out of my case comes my Darg Luke! It looked like it had just been arrived from another dimension and at that precise moment I wished for an ebmm that blended in a little better...BP any chance of an archtop in lightburst?:rolleyes::D

I'll be back there in a couple of weeks with the Axis Sport!

If Luke himself showed up at a pub jam, what do you think he would use? My guess is that he'd use one of his Luke models if he brought it. He'd make it work for the situation and not be bothered by the other cats' axes. Don't get caught up in the "looks" game cause that's all it is. Your luke won't sound all that different from the others; infact, you might add that extra bit of umph to the jam.

I used to own a few Strats, including a Custom Shop 65 Shoreline Gold Relic. Great guitar... But I really could find any reason to keep it hanging around once I got hooked to my Silo Spec.

So I sold them... ALL of them save one, but that remaining one was a gift...:D

Screw tradition. Original ideas, thinking outside of the box, and taking chances...that is why we love this company.

I'm sad for those that look at someone playing a Bongo, Silo, or a beautiful quilted Axis and "don't get it" because it's not traditional enough.

Makes me wonder if I can jam with someone that stuck in their ways.

LOL...if only I could play like Lucious...and I think that's partly the point too when holding onto something that stands out so much from the crowd! ;) But whatever, I get up there, play, have a laugh, and thats what its about! Forget the vintage looking Axis Sport copout (even though its gorgeous and a favourite of mine!)...next time the premium top Cherryburst Axis SS Piezo...and I can't play like EVH either!! :D:D

Lionel that Sil is tasty and safe!! ;)

Lionel,

TRADITIONAL - that should be on a magazine cover!!!!

I swear, if I ever start a guitar magazine (a real GAS-type of magazine with lost of high-res pics, not those guitarist/guitar/tab), EBMM will adorn the front cover, and the first company I will profile will be EBMM... THEN I'll do Fender for the next issue... Hahahahaha...:p
