Now, most of you will remember the BP Bongo at the Open House.

If you don't, it looks an awful lot like this.

Wow. How cool is that?

You definately deserve it, and I'm definately jealous! :)

Very nice gesure from BP! I'd have to say very well deserved, too, Jack. What a cool bass!

There's no doubt in my mind that the whole Ernie Ball family is a class operation. Not that I needed reminding, but still...

Each time I try to explain our "little community" to my non-EBMM friends they just stare at me like I am crazy...

Jack, we've always said you're one hell of a guy and work your @ss off keeping all of us in line (if you can call it work ;) ). Anyway, from one who has played the new bass at the OH, all I can say is it is well deserved! Congrats!!! (and drool!!!!!)

BP, what can I say other than you continue to impress (and I know that wasn't your intention but still it was a very cool gesture)!

Bovine....that is simply AWESOME. Big Poppa has a huge heart of gold and it shows each and every day. WE (all of us forumites) are lucky to have you as a moderator and you have done and continue to do an OUTSTANDING job keeping us Knuckleheads in line while making this place THE place to be. We are LUCKY to have the owner of the best company on our boards as well as other employees of EBMM. You deserve that bongo.......for you are Lord Bongo!

Again, I thank you and all at EBMM for making this place fun, for making the best instruments and strings, and for making us more like family than just another customer. Believe me Bovine, I know the feeling! :D

That's absolutely breath taking. I have to go with everyone though. You do a hell of a job here and you know all of us appreciate. And what could we do without Sterling?? :D

Erika: "You think he'll adopt us?"

Jack: "I think he already has."

Erika: "He just GAVE you that bass? Maybe....he wants you."

Jack: "If he does, we'll have to give it some serious thought. In fact, if he's just using me to get to you, we'll have to think about that, too."

Erika: "Yeah."

By the way, it's not the Bongo we all played at Open House. It's a brand new, exact copy of that bass. Like an idiot, I played it for nearly four hours last night. Does anyone know how long it's been since I played roundwounds for FOUR HOURS?

My fingers really hurt and now I have to report for jury duty. Not bitching about the first part, really.....only the latter.

First off I didn't give Jack the bass for publicity. I also know that Jack does not give of himself to receive. I naively hoped that no one would notice....But thanks for the compliments. I enjoy all of you (even NorM somethimes) It shows your class that you can appreciate the gesture.

Jack my friend you are incorrect about one thing...That is THE bass not a twin. If I gave you a duplicate it would not be as special........Ask Dargin and Dudley.

I love those Peruvian Generals Daughters...they think that it all boils down to one thing.
(most of the time they are right, but not this one)

Here is my dilema...I am bassless....how about a thread to choose Bog Poppa's new bass?

Very cool that Jack received "The One". But if you really dug the black 1H make another for yourself, which would make you and he the godfathers of each other's twins.

I'm sure it won't be bog standard, whatever you choose:D

Is'nt there a bass manufacturer somewhere in California that can help you out?

To Jack,

I'm new here but have been reading this forum for quite some time, I've read all the goings on and some of the ups and downs you have had to deal with.
To receive such a gift (especially so unexpected) in the spirit of friendship is a wonderful thing.

A keeper for sure eh?

Cheers
