Colin, you and Dave were so much fun. We kept the party from the desert going! Maybe someday when I get to visit Tiff we can rock again, but in your neck of the woods :D
Tiffles isn't really far from me, although I think she's scared of the radio ;)

Episode two: Double the Balls

So two years after my first Ball, the Luke, I got a severe case of GAS for an Axis shaped guitar, and I wanted to stick with the same trem I had on the Luke, so an Axis SS was a natural. Originally, I was looking for a trans red with maple board, but I spied a gorgeous trans yellow/gold one at Chuck Levins. I just came back from my first trip to the desert, so I figured I deserved my first brand-new geetar! When the brown truck dropped it off, I was blown away... really fun guitar that responds to both high gain and clean well, and my first real dual humbucker guitar as well. Again, pardon the crap photo work, got out of work way too late to photograph in daylight...

OK, this is getting serious...

This is my third EB guitar, a 2000 Sil Special that came upgraded with double the normal Mojo (TM). This is the desert island guitar (although strings are hard to get in the desert, or on an island) that I absolutely could not be without. Not only is it a great feeling and sounding guitar, but I PLAY better on it, which is to say slightly less crappy than on other guitars :D Every time I go back to it, it's like coming home. I upgraded the bridge to a DiMarzio Hot VPAF and the thing smokes. I need to send it back to SLO to get the nut fixed, maybe frets leveled and such, but it's hard to let get away, you know? ;) Purchased via Ebay while deployed during 2003...back when EBMMs seemed to be a little more of a secret.
