I don't intend this thread to re-open the debate of intellectual property rights, copy protection, or such issues.

However, the Sony BMG XCP malware is getting lots of press, so I thought I'd post some links for your amusement.

Sony being sued by Texas and California

Sony's downplay of the malware, and how to get replacement discs

Sony gets caught with slipped discs

Microsoft to remove Sony malware from PCs (like they weren't fully aware of what was going on)

Album titles containing the malware - G3 Live In Tokyo is among them!

Francric,

I've only read about Cd's so far, but you might visit the Sony site linked above to see for sure.

Rolling Stone did a great article on this in the latest issue, check it out!!

Bottom line. . .

Sony's being sued by the EFF for Bazillions... and.. the lawsuit says that sony not only has to remove the XCP, included on about 5 million CD's, but also they have to remove the other copy protection scheme called MediaMax that was included on about 20 million CD's.

Everybody's bitching and a lot of artists are saying they were ruined by Sony cause now nobody will by their stuff.

Oh well,

At least if you read this month's issue, the entire time your reading you get to smell the sample insert of Carlos Santana's new line of cologne!!! (Oh Yeah! Its a music business thing).
