Well MrM you know what? I have only had these new coated strings on my Bongo 5HHp for 3 or 4 days and I am loving the way they sound and feel. They are definately BALLsy and their sound is as fresh as the moment they went on, I have been playing them a lot and I know the Bongo is a dead accurate bass for tune, but these beauties keep the tuning on the needle even after 3 hours of constant play. MY GOD am I impressed with these? I know they are more expensive but they are really worth the extra cash. Absolutely spot on!

the redwood scares me..
every time i pick it up i start thinking about how measly our little lives are compared to a tree that stood for 1000 years.. and then my mind starts spinning and i start thinking about why we are here...
so no way im bringing that one out of the box voluntarily.. i figure it stays in the case, inside the cardboard box with original strings on. call it a tribute to nature ;)

other than keeping it as an investment, wouldn't it be a tribute to get that
1000 year old wood vibrating and part of life again? just saying

Return the Redwood to the jungle from whence it came.

Or whack a bunch of new coated wickedass strings on and play the living crap out of it!
